Monitor Stand 2016

Midway through the semester my laptop screen decided to stop working.  At home I had an old monitor but as it had been embedded in another peice of furniture I had lost the stand to keep it vertical.  I set out to use some of the modeling techniques I had been exploring to solve this problem.

I decided that the Stand could be distilled to 3 main points.  The Connector in the back of the Monitor, and 2 points split out wide on either side. A couple extra points provided the curve that would keep stand upright in the y-plane.

I then brought the design into Fusion 360 to add crossbracing and acheive the organic curvature I wanted. This also allowed me to easily do stress analysis testing, helping me iterate on the placement of the crossbracing for maximum efficiency.
